Frida's Hot Sauce Packaging

The Concept

Frida's Hot Sauce is a package design inspired by the heat of Mexico and the vibrancy of Día de los Muertos (The Day of the Dead). I recently rewatched Disney Pixar's Coco and fell in love with the use of colours and characters within the film. I took inspiration from the various patterns and colour schemes from the film and my own research when designing these hot sauce labels.

The Logo

If it's not already obvious, I took inspiration from Frida Kahlo herself, by adding a flower crown on the skull. I also added face makeup to the skull referencing the makeup worn by many during the Day of the Dead celebrations.

Logo Variations

I created three logo colour variations to represent the three flavours in the hot sauce packaging series: chili lime, original, and chipotle.
